Show in Aid of Rescue

Well, the Bank Holiday weekend is almost with us, so this is just a quick note to remind you about the Show some of our kind friends are staging on Monday at Tetney near Grimsby - I know that such a lot of organisation has gone in to this and it is hoped that as many of our Rescues as possible will attend. Let us hope that the weather is kind but I understand that there will be some indoor facilities if it isn't! It is sunny but fresh here in Norfolk today, not a bad sort of day for a dog show, so I hope that it is just as good on Monday.

Judging starts at 11 a.m. and entries taken from 10 a.m.

Slightly different names!!

Having had a houseful of guests over the weekend, I overheard the following - when they were talking about the various animals about the place "Jean has got a Muster-rander" - haven't heard that one before...........

News of Rescue Jerry

You will see our friend Jerry the Rescue on the front page of the website looking happy and relaxed at home with Amanda his new owner.

Amanda writes, I thought you might like to know that Jerry's relaxed attitude has helped two children in the past 2 days overcome their fear of dogs. My daughter's friend yesterday, who came to play for the afternoon and who initially wouldn't even go from one room to the other if it meant passing him, ended getting her confidence up so much that I had to discourage her from constantly hanging around his neck and harassing him and she gave him his tea. Again this afternoon, a 2 year old who was hysterical at the sight of a dog in the distance on our walk, was seen going up to him and saying goodbye when he left us some 3 hours later. Amazing, our lovely Jerry - I think he certainly has a career as a "calmer of fear". To balance this, I should say that we have had to get a stair gate as he does prefer the beds when we are out - of course when we are here, butter wouldn't melt....!

Thank you for keeping in touch Amanda and we are always pleased to hear news of Jerry and of course delighted that he proving to be a great ambassador for the breed.
